‘4days4Transition’ Seminar Series, promoted by Prof. Daniela De Leo thanks to funding from the University.
The common theme of the four meetings is Transition, also in relation to the simultaneous implementation of the DiArc-Department of Excellence 2023-27 project ‘Living the Transition’. In particular, each of the four seminars in the cycle is designed as an opportunity to discuss and explore ‘Transition’ in relation to the results of recent research conducted at national and international level on INEQUALITIES, CIRCULARITY and INFORMALITY, concluding with a moment of reflection more internal to the THEORIES AND PRACTICES of Urban and Regional Planning, as well as URBAN POLICIES.

INFORMALITY
The third seminar focuses on informality asa lens to understand urban transition from a Global perspective (South and North). We discuss how informal practices shape housing, planning, and everyday life, highlighting the interplay between state regulation, community agency, and spatial adaptation. It draws from African and Italian urban contexts, especially how informality redefines the boundaries between design, governance, and lived experiences.
