We are pioneering excellence: introducing Tlab and HabiT

Unique and distinctive aspects of the project encompass the establishment of the visionary “Transitional Laboratory” (the Tlab), a dynamic and collaborative research center at the forefront of innovation in architecture and design. The Tlab serves as a hub for the convergence of diverse expertise within the Department of Architecture (DiARC) at the University of Naples Federico II. It provides a unique environment for scholars, researchers, and professionals to collaboratively explore experimental approaches to architecture and design, emphasizing the integration of historical, social, and environmental considerations. In addition to the Tlab, the project introduces a groundbreaking initiative — the multidisciplinary three-year PhD program conducted in English, titled “Habitat in Transition” (HabiT). This program aims to nurture and equip future scholars with the knowledge and skills necessary to address the complex challenges associated with contemporary modes and forms of living. The HabiT program is designed to be an incubator for innovative thinking, fostering a deep understanding of the intersections between architecture, sustainability, and societal needs.
